About

My name is Matt Holzhauer and I've lived in Northern California for about twenty years.

My journey started in New York City, where I grew up surrounded by the constant bombardment of media. Movies and TV shows were being shot constantly all around me. It was an amazing place to grow up!

The ability of media (including film, music and  television) to get people's attention and motivate them always fascinated me. Over the years, I would dabble in community theater and attempt to become a satisfactory guitar player. But the one creative medium I ended up excelling in on that journey was photography.

Photography helped me document my travels so that I would never forget any of the people or places I stumbled across on my path to adulthood. With the popularity of social media, I found the value of sharing those memories with the people in whose company I had long since parted ways. I went through dozens of cameras, studied the art of lighting and depth of field. Researched what equipment I needed and why I needed it.

I began entering contests and local fairs to display my work. As my skills grew, the ribbons started accumulating. Then local newspapers began printing my photos to go along with their stories. This was followed by my photography being featured in magazines like Zenith 12000 and Communities Magazine, as well as online at the Mendocino Voice.

And now I am ready to put that passion to work for you. Anybody can capture an image on their phone. But it takes an artist to craft an image that you will cherish for a lifetime. That is what we deliver to you.
